Espoo International Lutheran Church – A family away from home

The Lutheran Church in Espoo, comprised of six independent Parishes, is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland and the global church of Christ. The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland is the church of approximately 3,6 million people, who are members of the Parish of their home town. We want to be a church for all people – regardless of background – so we welcome everyone to attend our activities.

Rooted in the rich traditions of the Reformation, in Espoo we seek to embody faith, hope, and love. We offer spiritual guidance, support, and community for people from all walks of life. Together, we want to be a welcoming and inclusive church committed to the well-being of individuals, families, and society.

In Espoo, the church is more than a place of worship – it is a space for personal reflection, fellowship, growth, and service. We strive to reflect the love of Christ through our actions locally and globally. With a strong focus on supporting those in need, fostering spiritual growth, and promoting justice and compassion, we work together as a faith community to bring positive change to the world.

The six Evangelical Lutheran Parishes of Espoo offer worship, church ceremonies, family clubs, Sunday school, baptism and confirmation classes for youth and adults, summer camps, and various other activities in English and other languages. We provide pastoral care and counselling for individuals and families. In hospitals, our chaplains serve patients, relatives, and staff. Our university chaplains support students and staff on campuses. Family counsellors help couples and families with relational challenges.
