Worship and Ceremonies
Life's significant moments are often marked by worship and ceremonies that connect us with God's grace and presence. In the Espoo parishes, we invite you to participate in Holy Mass and other worship services and celebrate the significant milestones of life and faith, including baptism, confirmation, wedding, home blessing, and funeral. Each of these sacred ceremonies offers a moment to reflect, celebrate, and find comfort in our faith and faith community. You can read more information about each ceremony through the links below.
The Worship service
The life of the Christian community centres around the Worship Service. We gather on Sundays to celebrate our life as God’s family, praise him with songs, pray for our and the world’s needs, and celebrate the Lord’s Supper (Holy Communion) to remember Jesus' death for our sins. Everyone is welcome to join our worship services, but only baptised Christians can participate in the Lord's Supper.
Many parishes also hold other regular or occasional worship services. These services are usually shorter than the main Sunday service and may differ in style and focus group (e.g., youth services). There are also international services in various languages for the growing international community in Espoo. Not all services include Holy Communion.
