You are also welcome to participate in our events and worship services even if you are not a member of the Lutheran Church. Volunteering means it is not a paid position.

Areas of Volunteer Tasks at the Cathedral Parish

Diaconia

Common Responsibility Campaign (Yhteisvastuu in Finnish) starts annually in February. There are many ways to help. Contact: Sofia Ali, 040 513 0862.

Unelman Kammari thrift shop café – a meeting place maintained by volunteers. Donations of good condition clothes and household goods accepted. Contact: Eeva Einola, 050 438 0189.

Collection box volunteer for urgent disaster relief collections. 

Everyday Friends – visit and support elderly people at care homes or in their own homes. 

Music and Choirs 

Music and Choirs – Volunteers with musical or singing skills are warmly welcome to join choirs and music groups. Tuike, Hohde, Välke, and Säihke are children’s choirs.

Chorus Domus

Espoo cathedral english choir

The Espoo Cathedral English Choir is a mixed choir that was founded in 2026. The choir rehearses every other Friday from 6 pm - 7:30 pm. Contact: Sheldon Ylioja, sheldon.ylioja@evl.fi, p. 040 590 0730.

Bilingual International Worship Service (EILW) 

To assist in the bilingual (Finnish-English) Worship Service held every second Sunday at 3 p.m. in Suvela Chapel.

Elected Positions

In parish elections held every four years, members of Espoo parishes elect decision-makers to parish councils and the joint church council. The next election will be in fall 2026. Any adult confirmed member can run for office. Voting is open to all members aged 16+.
