SyysMatti Fair is a traditional fair celebrating local history and community. This year is the 19th time the event will be held nearby the Espoo Cathedral. The Cathedral itself s closed because of renovation. 

With more than 100 vendors and exhibitors, the event offers handcrafted products, local delicacies, fresh seasonal produce and plenty of activities for all ages. Families can enjoy a hobby horse workshop, meet ponies, alpacas and sled dogs, take part in children's crafts and games, try stilt walking, and build their own wooden toy truck in the woodworking workshop. Visitors can also cast a fishing line by the river and join a cheerful sing-along of children's angel songs at the parish hall.

SyysMatti Fair visitors can also take part in pilgrimage walks and guided cemetery tours, and learn about the history of Espoo Cathedral. Sunday begins with a joyful Family Sunday Service at Tuomiokirkko Parish Hall (Tuomiokirkon seurakuntatalo), and a pastor is  available to meet visitors on both days.

The atmospheric fair area stretches across Kirkkoranta, the Church Park, Lagstad Field and the Cathedral hill. Visitors can enjoy hot soup served from a traditional street food kitchen, freshly baked pastries and other treats. The popular Nostalgia Café, Baker’s Cottage and Inn will also be open throughout the event.

SyysMatin Markkinat is one of Espoo’s largest annual events. It brings people together, offering a chance to meet new friends and greet familiar faces. Rooted in local history, the fair helps residents feel connected to the generations before them who turned to God in both good times and difficult times.

The entire market area is pedestrian-only. We recommend arriving by public transport. Please note that train services will not operate to Espoo Centre during the Fair weekend.
