Worship

The weekly highlight in the life of the church is the Sunday worship service or Holy Mass. In each parish, the main worship service is held in the parish church (or in temporary premises, should the parish church not be available). In addition, parishes may organise other worship services in chapels or parish halls. These may have a different format or style of worship. Holy Mass is celebrated also on major Christian holidays.

Holy Mass gathers church members for a time of worship, hearing the Word of God, and celebrating Holy Communion. In the service, we ask God to nurture our faith as he speak to us, to forgive our sins and refresh us, and to empower us with his Holy Spirit. In Holy Communion—also called the Lord's Supper—we remember Christ's suffering and death for our sins and share in his body and blood through the elements of bread and wine. Often, the service is followed by coffee fellowship, where we strengthen our mutual bonds as sisters and brothers in God's family.

In Espoo worship services are held in Finnish, Swedish and English.
